A state registered Orthotist, Philippa qualified in 2006 from the University of Salford with a degree in Prosthetics and Orthotics. She is currently employed by RSLsteeper and works at several NHS hospitals gaining experience from a variety of clinics.
Philippa is HPC registered (Health Professions Council) and is also a member of BAPO (British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists), which is the governing body of the profession.
Orthotics comes from the Greek word ‘ortho’, meaning to straighten. Orthoses (also known as appliances or devices) are designed to support or correct the alignment of an affected body part. The aims of orthoses are to improve function, reduce pain and prevent further complications.
