Knee Pain

The knee is the largest joint in the body, takes a large load through standing and bending. Knee pain can present in a variety of ways, including a dull ache, sharp or stabbing pain, or stiffness, warmth, and swelling of the knee. Knee symptoms may also present in the form of of weakness, giving way, or locking of the knee joint.

Most common knee pathologies include:

  • Sprained or torn ligaments
  • Strained or torn muscles
  • Tendon or cartilage injuries
  • Arthritis
  • Bursitis
  • Mechanical compensation for other areas of dysfunction in the body

The A physical examination will then take place of the knee but also include the hips, pelvis, spine, and feet as all these can contribute to knee pain. The issue will be discussed and explained, alongside the best treatment options. This can include: manual therapy, soft tissue massage, acupuncture, rehabilitation exercises.
